Ethiopia
July 2003
The 3 week tour was organised by Rainbow Tours of London, although arrangements in Ethiopia were made by Village Ethiopia, and Addis-based company run by an ex-pat Brit, Tony Williams.

284. African Citril Serinus citrinelloides Up to 30 in grounds of Tana Hotel, Bahir Dar, on 22nd-24th July; 4 in grounds of Bekele Mola Hotel, Ziway, on 25th July; 1 male in grounds of Wabe Shebelle Hotel #1, Awassa, on 25th-26th July.
285. Yellow-rumped (Reichenow’s) Seedeater Serinus reichenowi 12 between Goro and Sof Omar on 28th July; 1 in Bidir, between Dola Mena and Genale, on 29th July.
286. White-throated (Abyssinian Yellow-rumped) Serin Serinus xanthopygius 6 at Tis Isat on 23rd July. In low bushes to the east of the main falls, near the ford. Very hard to see as they fed in the middle of the bush and only came out to fly to the next bush. Two calls heard - a low ‘tsip’, ‘tsip’ contact call and a bouncy ‘tyiu chu’ flight call.
